Found via the latest issue of Real Living Magazine, I am completely in love with this Funky French Country Bedroom. 

It mixes a gorgeous toile Quilt (which I recently purchased from Ikea for $24.95!), bright pops of colour from the scattered cushions as well as a quirky neon sign.

I am working towards creating this look for my own Bedroom at the moment and definitely want a Curio & Curio Fluoro Cushion to complete the look!

'A VINTAGE TEA PARTY'

Over the weekend I hosted 'A Vintage Tea Party' as part of Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, to help raise funds for Cancer Research and Support.

My Invitation read a little like this:

EXPECT: TEAPOTS, RABBITS, FLOWERS, BUNTING, CAKESTANDS AND, NOT TO FORGET, PLENTIFUL AMOUNTS OF MAGICAL TEA-PARTY FOOD FIT FOR THE QUEEN.

There was indeed plentiful amounts of delicious food baked by my family & friends, including freshly made scones (thanks Steph!) and a selection of delightful T2 Tea's including French Earl Grey, Ginger Spice and Peppermint.

I had so much fun creating this event, from making the bunting flags and props to setting up & styling it all on the day.

Since finding the 'Blank' Stall at the Melbourne Design Market @ Fed Square in December, I have been anxiously awaiting the launch of their website. 

So I was thrilled to receive an email this week announcing that it had launched.

'Blank is your toolbox for personalised goodies, projects and creative play.'

Their passion is to bring creativity, personality and fun into making, baking, giving and decorating.

Their website is so fun.. every product has an inpirational idea to put the item to creative use. My favourite products are the coloured gift boxes, treat bags and fasteners, just to name a few.

I purchased the treat bags and gift boxes at the market and presented my homemade gingerbread as part of my gifts at Christmas. They were a hit.

Next on my list will be more treat bags and some coloured tapes. Also, the hollow wooden eggs would make very cute easter gifts.

FLORAL POP CUSHIONS

I recently spotted these floral watercolour cushions in the latest issue of Real Living Magazine & fell in love.

They really do make the above room 'pop'. I would love to inject a bit of floralness to my bedroom and these would certainly do the trick.

They are designed by Scottish Textile Designer Fi Douglas. If you too like them, you should check out the other items from her label BLUEBELLGRAY.

A little mood board I've created to inspire a 'neon' themed event.

I don't own a lot of neon things but I do love pops of unexpected neon colour in interiors and accessories to make a pretty fun statement. I.e this stool above -

How incredibly cool is this idea!

Sandwiches and Cakes on two wheels: Tiffany is an American girl in Paris with a fun foodie business. "Tifamade" is homemade food, made with ingredients carefully chosen from the farmer's market, all wrapped up in ecological packaging. The sandwiches and cakes are presented in a lovely suitcase." 

In 2010, Tiffany started delivering sandwiches in Paris when she was looking for a way to combine her two passions: feeding people and riding her bike.
 I love that she presents her sandwiches in an old suitcase and her cakes look yum, too!


I wish I had have known about her when I was there.

WIRE VASE D.I.Y.

I spotted this very clever D.I.Y. today over on the Design Love Fest Blog*

 These wire Vases are made from Chicken Wire, therefore, can be molded into any form and even more can be spray painted into any colour to suit your interior! 

Costing under $10 for each one and seeing the results above, I am definitely going to make a cluster of these to put on my bookshelf.

OLIVIA & LEOPARD PRINT

I have a crush on both of these two right now. 

 Olivia Palermo has a great sense of style and takes risks. I love how she has worn leopard print in all of the images above. 

I am going to add these accessories to jazz up my Autumn/Winter wardrobe and who knows I may even go a little 'wild' and pair a Leopard print Shirt with bright pants as Olivia demonstrates.

LES BALLONS SAINT VALENTIN

Ok so i'm not really into the whole Valentines Day thing, however, if I were to recieve some of these 'ballons Saint Valentin' from Geronimo I just may be won over!


~ A little bit about Geronimo ~

Geronimo! was founded by Certified Balloonatic and Master Balloon-Trooper, Jihan “Jihanimo” Zencirli, as a way to celebrate friends’ and families’ lives in her hometown of Seattle in 2010. On any given day, Jihan could be seen arriving to a restaurant, birthday party, friend’s home, park, art gallery, library or boutique with her balloons fastened to her 1974 (yellow with matching saddlebags and whitewall tires) French Moped, drawing attention and delight from every person she zipped past. Eventually “The Balloon Girl”, as she was soon known, decided that it was time she shared the bliss of balloons with people of Los Angeles. Jihan opened the doors to her Seaton Street Studio and Workshop in Los Angeles, on May 1st 2011, where her spherical interests can be seen as an explosion and  visual feast of fine ribbon, vintage millinery and hand cut paper fancy created exclusively and originally for every order, also offering party planning and event services!

How I wish they were in Australia - I love the concept.

COCONUT SMOOTHIE

This morning I made a Coconut Smoothie.

This was my first ever attempt at opening a Coconut!

I struggled a bit at first but managed to hack through.. eventually. 

Once all was blended together it was a pretty tasty result.

If you would like to try one too, see below

I n g r e d i e n t s:

1 Coconut

1 Mango

1 Banana

1 handful of cashews

2 tsp cinnamon powder

M e t h o d:

Open the coconut and pour all the liquid into the blender

 Scoop out the flesh and add to the blender

Add all the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth

enjoy.
