REMINISCING

For some reason I have been reminiscing about Paris alot today.

For lunch I had a croissant & cafe au lait.
Greeted customers at work in French.
Met a 'parisian' at work and spoke about our favourite places and where I stayed.
Gazed at this
Listened to this

I wish to live there again*

*I was there for one month, but I'm counting it as living there!

STORE CRUSH

L O V E ,  L O V E ,  L O V E

Words can not describe how much I love Fenton & Fenton's wares.

The eclectic collection of home wares, antique and reproduction furniture combined with vivid textiles, taxidermied animals and artwork make for one incredible retail space.

Founder Lucy Fenton expresses her style that dares to mix and match objects, origins and eras.
The result is so inspiring I want pretty much everything.

The above images were styled by the very talented Mr. Jason Grant and shot by Felix Forest in December 11'.

I am in complete awe.

I HAVE A TUMBLR

I've started up a TUMBLR account

This is my current moodboard where I post random bits & pieces

Hope you find as much inspiration from it as much as I have from others

BEACH GETAWAY

Early this week I escaped to the beach with some friends.

We camped.
Caught some waves.
Laughed til' our stomachs hurt.
Ate delicious food.
Drank the best iced coffee and coconut cocktails.
Relaxed.

VIBRANT

Locations from Top: Cinque Terre, Gelati in Florence, Lake Garda, Capri

An assortment of snaps I took in Italy last year, mixed with some added brightness.

I loved that Italy was full of vibrant colour everywhere you looked - whether it be from the buildings, the fashion or the amazing gelati!

TEA LABELLING

Today I have re-organised my T2 Tea collection into these little glass canisters.
I love them stacked in the colourful T2 boxes, but they do not keep well.
At least this way they will stay airtight and look great individually labelled.

Might be time to buy some more, as I've realised most of the boxes were empty and I've ran out of Chai and Peppermint.

AUNT LIL'S KITCHEN

(Photos taken from my Iphone)

Current food Obsession - Soft Pretzel's.
Therefore new favourite place - Aunt Lil's

If you are not familiar, let me introduce to you this gorgeous little kitchen in the Highpoint Shopping Centre, Melbourne.

Aunt Lil's mission is to 'provide fresh-baked products made with the freshest natural ingredients - baked just the way Aunt Lil baked - with heart'.  The traditional homemade recipes stemming from Eastern Europe include a variety of soft pretzels as well as fruit buns, frozen & greek Yoghurt, and health Bars.

The decor is just lovely. The rustic timber tables are decorated with vintage cans and native plants. The seating is a mixture of industrial hessian covered stools and timber chairs, with a section of industrial bar stools in front of a cute blue paneled wall. Little clusters of vintage props including scales and mixers are scattered around the premises. I also love that you can see the cooks making the food as you walk by.

My favourites are the Cheese & Olive Pretzel with Aioli dipping sauce and the Cinnamon Pretzel's are just delicious.

Do try if you are in the centre, you will instantly become a fan.

TEA PARTY INSPIRATION

I have been longing to start making things from 'The Vintage Tea Party Book', ever since myself and a friend came across it during our Christmas shopping. It was love at first sight as we began flicking through the many pages of gorgeous photography, stunning illustrations and typography throughout. Yep, it was instantly purchased and added to my Christmas list, as well as Stephs!

The fun book about hosting a Tea Party is filled with amazing recipes, great ideas for invitations and decorations (with awesome templates), sourcing props as well as helpful make-up hints.

Once I have a full day free I will have a bake up and may even host my own Tea Party.

Stay tuned.

LANA DEL REY

I don't know where she came from but i'm quite obsessed with LANA DEL REY's music right now.

Her voice is amazing. So hypnotising.
Loving all her songs including 'Video Games', 'Diet MTM Dew', 'Blue Jeans' and 'Born to die'.

Only just realised she will be performing here in March, but of course tickets have already sold out.
*fingers crossed there will be another show*

Can not wait for her debut album Born to Die to be released early February.

STREAMER LOVE

I don't know why it is but lately I have fallen in love again with Streamers. Yes, Streamers! The last time I think I would have used them is in Primary School, most likely making something very.. 'crafty'.

Recently I used them in my Christmas Gift Wrapping.

Made this for my Hallway Entrance:

Will use them to make this

Find Tutorial Here :)

& love them used to decorate this Mini for the Kate Spade 2011 Christmas Campaign

Is it just me or do they seem to be making a comeback!? or had they never left?

INSPIRING QUESTION

Following on from my newfound inspirational quotes, I just came across this.
Must print out & put somewhere I will see. Daily.

IN SEARCH OF GRAFFITI

Last week I headed into the city in search of some graffiti with some friends as one of them wants to create a canvas of Melbourne Street Art / landmarks to fill a blank wall in their new apartment.

Melbourne has some amazing street artwork scattered throughout its laneways. We will most likely continue to hunt down some more in the next few weeks.

Most of the images I snapped are taken just off Brunswick St, near the Rose Street Markets.

WELCOMING 2012

WELCOMING / CELEBRATING / DREAMING

OF THE YEAR AHEAD

~   2 0 1 2   ~

There are lots of things I want to do and achieve this year. I am going to start by writing them all down.

I bought myself the Kikki.K '101 Dreams' Journal and hope this will be the beginning of making things happen as I've heard powerful things happen when you start putting your dreams down on paper. They become real and achievable - and your subconscious mind starts helping you find ways to make them come true. And I'm loving all the many inspiring quotes in between the blank pages.

dream.
then do.

Wishing you a Happy New Year too x
